Description
Kaassoufle: Breaded cheese snack. This traditional dutch snack was created late 60’s, 1969 to be exact, by Hans van Bemmel (owner of a ‘snackbar’) and a local baker. Hans asked the baker to make something with cheese and pastry. Since then, many have enjoyed, and burnt their mouth, this first vegetarian snack.
We make our kaassoufle with ‘Goudse kaas’ (Gouda cheese) which is wrapped in pastry and covered in golden breadcrumbs to give it that nice crispy coating.
Although this snack can be enjoyed without any sauce, many choose to dip them in a sauce of their choice, but we recommend a sweet chili sauce.
